One other thing. Do we want to do a Magic 2010 Release Party? I can order product but I’d like people to RSVP in advance. We can discuss on Saturday or leave a comment here.

Starting this Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m. we’ll have a club meeting, do to all of your requests and the lack of Magic on Saturday anywhere else close to downtown. Because I have stuff to do later in the day we’ll start at 11, but I’m open to moving the time around because 1 might be better overall. Also we will need to decided how often we are going to meet. I might not be able to make every meeting on Saturdays.

The only question left is draft or constructed. Right now, lets say standard constructed, but if you all want to draft leave comments and let me know.

I just recieved the second pack of WPN promo cards.

The cards are Slave of Bolas and Marisi’s Twinclaws. Alternate art and foil – kind of lack luster if you ask me, but I have them.

Hey guys it has been suggested that we switch or meetings to Saturday. I’ve been giving this a lot of thought and I think that I could do it. I’m a little worried about my ability to make as many of the meetings as I do on Tuesday but I think I’ll be ok most of the time.

Lets try to meet and talk about this this week.

You read correctly. The club’s goal this quarter will be to make a Magic set.  Eventually my hope is to make an entire block so starting with a large set is a good idea. The first set’s codename will “Hook” with the second being “Line” and the third “Sinker”. The idea is to print the cards at the school for free then glue them to crap commons and actually make booster packs and draft with them then use them in some form of constructed including block and “Choose Your Own Standard(with one block having to be ours).

Our first decision will be what the block’s theme and subthemes will be. We could use an old theme or we could come up with our own. Just to remind everyone, the old themes were Multicolor(Legends, Mirage, Invasion, Ravnica, Shadowmoor, and Alara), Artifacts(Antiquities, Urza’s, and Mirrodin), Flavor/Story(The Dark, Rath, Kamigawa), Tribal(Onslaught, Lorwyn), Graveyard(Odyssey), Nostalgia(Time Spiral), and Suck(Fallen Empires, Homelands, Masques). While I’d prefer not to do Multicolor since it’s been so overused or Suck due to obvious reasons, the sky is about the limit on themes.

Start thinking about themes and post any ideas in respone to this post. I’m hoping to set up the block theme week 1 so it would be best to discuss it before then. If there end up being a lot of responses here, I’ll create a new thread on our Facebook site.

This week we will be holding a sanctioned Standard event. It will be alot like last week(still FREE) except that this will actually count for Player Rewards.

This week we will be doing a FREE standard constructed tournament. Bring your best deck(plus sideboard) and meet in the lounge at 6pm. The winner will recieve a WPN foil!

I hate to say this but I couldn’t schedule a sanctioned event less than a week in advanced. So even when we decided to do the event last week it was too late to schedule one for tomorrow. Sorry I didn’t know. So we have a few options. We can do it next week, which is what I suggest. Wait until break, or next quarter.

I also am working on getting Alara Reborn release event product. We’ll see what I can get.
